Ehlers-Danlos and HSD

Medical Massage

Kimby has been researching Ehlers Danlos since her daughter was born with it in 2000. She understands and can recognize the myriad of symptoms associated with EDS and Hyper-mobility Spectrum disorders and how best to work without creating further aggravation to fragile tissues. Combining massage, gentle lymphatic and visceral work and supporting the clients body she can provide relief from many of the ongoing discomforts an EDS or HSD client might experience.

Kimby’s deep understanding of and interest in anatomy, physiology and pathology drives her to continue learning about the injuries, ailments and unique conditions that plague us all at some time or another. From recovering from a virus to post surgery she is comfortable working with physicians and other medical practitioners to be part of your care team.

Oncology

Breast Health

Massage was part of Kimby’s recover while she was navigating ovarian cancer. She feels that it was critical to her comfort and well being and wants to provide that same service and support to others. She volunteers teaching with the Oregon Cancer Foundation and in the early 2000’s she was the founder and executive director of Hearts and Hands, a non-profit clinic providing complimentary health services to patients actively involved in cancer treatment. Hearts and Hands is closed but she continues to be very involved in the local cancer community. She remains informed and educated in current cancer treatments and medications so she can serve clients safely and proficiently. She combines a variety of innovative modalities in a safe, supportive environment to provide care and support during your journey.

Helping women learn to breast feed, prevent and manage mastitis and become educated on overall breast health was part of midwifery care. That care evolved to include treating and managing the swelling, congestion, pain and scar tissue accompanying cancer, radiation and augmentation including implants, reductions and fat transfer. Kimby is sensitive to the emotional impact breast surgery has on a woman and approaches treatment with the intention of educating and empowering women to “take their breast health into their own hands” . She regularly offers breast health workshops and trainings.

Pregnancy

Plastics, Lyposuction, Cosmetic

As a former midwife and a woman who has been pregnant Kimby is very familiar with the unique needs of a pregnant woman both before and after delivery. She understands and is comfortable working with high risk, injured or special needs mothers and accommodating their unique needs.

Whether it’s a mommy make-over, facelift, fat transfer, tummy tuck, skin removal, lypo, BBL or other cosmetic procedure Kimby has many years experience working with post surgery recovery. Her clients include people who received their surgeries in the US as well as Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, and Brazil so she is familiar with the recommendations from various surgeons and is happy to communicate with surgical staff to provide you the treatment specified by your doctor.
